Over 500 students take part in Kalapakosha, inter-school fest hosted by Sir Sivaswami Kalalaya Senior Sec. School

27 city schools took part in the annual cultural festival called Kalpakosha hosted by Sir Sivaswami Kalalaya Senior Secondary School at its Mylapore campus.

This festival provides a platform for city school students to showcase their talents.

This year, the festival was held on June 20 and 21.

Students from Chettinad Vidyashram, SBOA, Vidya Mandir, Chinmaya Vidyalaya Anna Nagar, P. S. Senior, Hindu Senior, DAV Girls and PSBB were among those who participated.

There were 24 events including Escape Room, Jam, Lawyers Up, Shipwreck, Block and Tackle, Basketball and Futsal, Fireless Cooking, Adzap and a Fashion Parade.

Savyasachi Mogili, cultural secretary, says that some 500 students attended and took part in the festival.

“We introduced new games like Escape Room and Expectations vs Reality which were a big hit.  Usually, we invite students of Classes 11 and 12 but this time, we invited Class 10 students too.”

Roshan Raj from Chettinad Vidyashram was the title winner and Surya S. from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Anna Nagar was the runner-up as the most creative people at the fest.

Food stalls were set up on the school campus. “Snacks enliven any festival of this kind and I think our guests really enjoyed themselves,” she says.

Actor Janaki Sabesh and violinist Padma Shankar were the chief guests for the festival.
