Nageswara Rao Park which was closed for three days since Friday last was re-opened on Monday morning.
The reason for the sudden closure, officially termed as ‘maintenance’ was not bought by people who use this park every day. For, there was no sign of large-scale civil work in the park on the days it was closed.
But it was evident that the city’s civic body did not want a BJP-backed Yoga Day event that was billed to be held in the park to go on, since the host had not sought formal permission.
A few wall posters seen all around Luz and Mylapore advertised the BJP-backed yoga event.
