Wednesday was a busy day for all people associated with the conduct of April 19 polling day.
Workers were seen at some polling booths setting up ramps and barricades, the sun beating down hard.
At the local Tahsildar’s office in R A Puram, a big group of staff were running through files of voters’ lists, preparing them to be given to the staff inc harge of booths.
Senior officials went around the zone inspecting the situation at the polling booths.
Police have pulled in traffic barricades closer to venues for polling – these will be used to restrict movement near each booth.
Staff who work in c rucial government operations like India Posts who are on duty on polling day cast their postal ballot at some designated centres today.
