Elections 2024: DMK city candidates meet archbishop at his premises

The usually quiet, lifeless Bishop’s House in San Thome came alive at high noon on Thursday.  The DMK party election caravan made a long stop here and with it, a bigger caravan of visuals-hungry media folks trailed in.

The DMK’s team was heavyweight – the candidates for Chennai North, Chennai South and Chennai Central – Kalanidhi Veerasamy, Thamizhachi Thangapandian and Dayanidhi Maran – were here with ministers Ma Subramaniam and Shekar Babu and city mayor Priya and Mylapore MLA, Dha Velu.

They met and spoke to archbishop Rev. Dr George Antonysamy, gave him a ponnadai and chatted closed door while the media waited outside for bytes.
