Members of the Society of St Vincent de Paul unit at Abiramapuram’s Our Lady of Visitation Church his been involved in charity work the past days in connection with the Lenten season the Church observes.
They have distributed donation boxes among the parishioners and requested them to sacrifice some amount and make donations at home – the donations will be used for the education of the poor.
The group plans to conduct a blood donation camp on March 29, which is Good Friday in the Holy Week.
On Sunday, the group visited Premavasam, an orphanage in Kundrathur and made donations there.
On Easter Sunday, the group intends to give meal packets to 30 needy people
