Tamilisai Soundararajan is the BJP’s candidate for Chennai South in the Lok Sabha elections due in April.
The list of candidates of the BJP to contest in the poll from Tamil Nadu was made public in Delhi this evening.
Tamilisai was till recently was governor of Telengana state and Lt. governor of Puducherry. She resigned the posts some days ago, then rejoined the BJP party ( she was once the party’s Tamil Nadu president) and was widely expected to be chosen for Chennai South.
With this, Chennai South will witness a three-cornered battle. The DMK’s candidate is Tamilachi Thangapandian, the sitting MP, and AIADMK’s man is Dr J Jayavardhan, who won this seat in the 2014 election.
