Two major traffic flow changes came into effect on Saturday caused due to work of Chennai Metro in the Mylapore – San Thome zone.
Traffic flow from the Light House to San Thome side and that from the Karaneeswarar Koil Street side now have to follow new rules.
Lots of traffic signages have been erected at key junctions in this zone and marshals are posted here to guide motorists.
It appears for now that even bikes and vans headed to 10-plus schools in San Thome zone will have to take the Marina Loop Road ; if you go by the signages. Though the Traffic Police intimation says local access will be allowed on the main road, to go straight past the Light House.
A small parking lot has been created on the Marina service road for shoppers at the Loop Road fish market to park here and not hinder flow of vehicles.
STOPPING OF BUSES HEADING TO CHENNAI CENTRAL- REQUIRED AT DR. RADHAKRISHNAN SALAI EITHER NEAR AVM RAJESHWARI KALYANA MANDAPAM OR FEW METERS AWAY NEAR TO PETROL PUMP.
COMMUTERS WHO WERE ALIGHTING AND BOARDING THE BUS AT AJANTHA STOP HAS TO GO EITHER TO THIRUVALLUVAR SALAI STOP OR TO TTK ROAD NEAR MUSIC ACADEMY ( FEW BUSES STOPS HERE) OTHER BUSES STOPS AT ROYAPETTHA POLICE STATION ONLY.
