The 1974 batch of B Sc. ( Chemistry) stream students of Vivekananda College, Mylapore are planning a meet-up.
Its to be the golden jubilee of their passing out of college.
The meet is to be on March 23, 10 a.m. onwards at the college campus, at Room No.G23.
Alumni from Chennai and outside, including many from the USA, are scheduled to attend this meet.
Says Dr V S Panchatsharam in an e-mail, “We are contributing Rs 2 lakhs to our college to renovate the glorious classroom where we attended our classes.”
This group started a Trust in the name of VIVECHEM in 2010 to financially help eight poor students in Vivekananda College.
Currently, the Trust helps 62 B Sc and M Sc students, who pursue chemistry in various colleges; support has come from chemistry students who studied here during the 1960 to 2000 period.
