Dance and music recitals inside temples carry with them a special feeling, if you tarry to sit down and enjoy tyhe performance.
Sri Kapali Temple is a favourite for many artistes.
It is for well-known Bharatanatyam teacher Sheela Unnikrishnan; she holds her annual festival here, despite some hurdles she faces in getting the OK to host it inside.
Sheela’s Sridevi Nrityalaya’s fest called Satyam Sivam Sundaram, is into its third evening today and goes on till Feb.4. It has been supported by the ministry of culture, govt. of India.
Top artistes and young talent perform. Last evening, senior dancer Priyadarshini Govind was set to perform.
Highlights ahead – Feb.2 – ‘Thirumylai Kuruvanji’ dance-drama by Roja Kannan, Priya Murle and group.
Feb.4, 7 pm ; Sridevi Nrityalaya presents ‘Janani Jagath Karani’, its popular production.
