Ramakrishna Mission Students Home, Mylapore has constructed huts for 40 Irula tribal families (as part of a rehabilitation project) and a Sahodari Niveditai Community Hall at Aalapakkam village, Endathur block, Madurantakam taluk in Chengalpattu district (near Uthiramerur) at a cost of Rs 24 lakhs.
Swami Bodhasaranandaji Maharaj, assistant general secretary, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, handed over the huts to the beneficiaries on February 17 at a function held at Alapakkam village.
Swami Satyajnanananda, secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Students Home, Chennai, swamis of the Ramakrishna Math, the local panchayat president, govt officials, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
