Mylapore police say they have arrested Deenadayalan in connection with the incident last week when petrol was spilled outside the locked east gate of Sri Kapali Temple at the midnight hour and it was then set alight.
Police say that this man was under the influence of liquor when he committed the act.
A video of the act went viral.
