The Alwarpet-based Gandhi Peace Foundation, as part of its ‘Youth for Peace’ programme, has organised a creative workshop for school children.
The initiative intends to inculcate and reinstate the values of manual labour and creativity among youths.
This workshop has been planned for three days spanning across Saturdays (that is 10th, 17th and 24th of this month in the Foundation ‘s office premise at 332, Ambujammal Street, Alwarpet.
The craft making sessions for the children have been planned and executed by Shankari Poornachandran, who holds a post-graduate degree in Gandhian thought, and was a Head Mistrees at a private school for over 10 years.
At the first session of the craft workshop, 25 students of class 6 and 7 from ‘Chennai High School, Vanniya Teynampet’, were engaged in making collage artworks.
