The community at Our Lady of Guidance Church in R. A. Puram popularly known as Saint Lazarus Church celebrated Pongal on the church campus on January 15.
Parish Priest Fr Y F. Bosco said that a rangoli competition was held between 6.15 to 7 15 am. Five anbiyams ( church units) took part. Prizes were given for the three best rangolis.
This was followed by Mass at 7.30.
After the Mass, sakkarai pongal that was prepared in the church campus was blessed and distributed to the parishioners present. Around 500 people were present.
Fun games like musical chairs, tug of war and uri-adithal were held and prizes were given to the winners.
