Quilt India Foundation [QIF] is presenting its show titled “Abundance” – a collection of quilts received in response to the annual challenge organised by The Square Inch, India’s first quilting studio based in Chennai.
Venue: Sri Sankara Hall, TTK Road, Alwarpet
Inauguration was held on January 19 evening and there a stream of people too in the display.

Kowdhi making demo – January 20, 11 am
A bundle of nine fabrics were given to over 100 registrants and the challenge was to make an art quilt representing the theme “Abundance” with at least 50% of the surface area being created with the given fabrics. The completed size of the art quilt was to be 20”x20”.
Along with these entries, the Foundation is exhibiting a collection of temperature quilts for the first time in India. Temperature quilts typically use different coloured fabrics to represent the daily maximum and minimum temperatures of a given place over the course of a year.
Says a media note from the host – Chennai temperatures are a major feature and quilters have chronicled the year 2021 in this special assortment of quilts among others.
