One sabha campus that has been badly hit by the recent cyclonic weather is Rasika Ranjani Sabha ( R R Sabha) on Sundareswarar Street, Mylapore.
For over a week now, men and motors are working more of 8 hours to clear the floodwater in the campus. And the work is still not done – the sabha has had to cancel programmes it had listed for the past days.
The rainwater flooded the parking lot. Though that water was cleared, the sump was filling up. Workers said the filling up of the Chitrakulam temple tank probably led to the huge rise in ground water level and affected this premises as groundwater kept oozing all over.
As water flows on to Sundareswarar Street, the place remains slushy and wet.
