P. Nurani Ananthanarayanan alias Anand, a resident of Alamelumangapuram, aged 50, passed away on December 15.
Anand studied in P S High School, Mylapore and attended the B.A (English Literature) course at Vivekananda College, Mylapore.
He was into the business of cashew processing and managed factories in Kovilambakkam and Saidapet.
“When he became a little ill, he took to helping people. He would attend to their needs of people who needed help,” said his father N. A. Parasuraman.
Though Anand was not part of any social group or community association, he had his group of friends who would come together to organise and execute social welfare events.
“His main interest was to serve people. During the pandemic times, he helped many. He arranged food and medical aid for the needy,” his father said.
Anand lost his mother 10 years ago. His sister lives in Oman.
