One place to shop in a jiffy for Christmas cakes and goodies is the McRennett bakery located on Venkatakrishnan Road in Mandaveli, closer to the MTC bus terminus.
Plum cakes and Madeira cakes in half and one kilos are displayed with other goodies like pastries, cookies and biscuits on tables at one end of this busy bakery.
Two plum cake varieties are packed in tin boxes, the manner in which they were packed and sold in the old days.
There are also single slice cakes, smartly packaged.
Bulk orders are undertaken but you need to drop in to place your order.
