SciArtsRUs, a non-profit organisation based in California in association with Artabilities 4 All and Wings Unlimited is organising the 4th edition of “Marghazhi Matram” a global event which will be held for eight days in December.
The inaugural ceremony of this global event will be held on Sunday, December 3 at Dakshinamurthi Auditorium, P S School campus, Mylapore from 10:30 am onwards. Inaugural ceremony will be presided over by the member of parliament, Lok Sabha, Dr. Thamizhachi Thangapandian
This year’s fest features around 125 artistes with over 200 performers and over 60 visual and performing artistes from the disabled and other marginalised communities.
Marghazhi Matram is a unique programme that has been conceived and curated by Dr. Ranjini Ramachander Kaushik, founder, SciArtsRUs to honour and showcase the visual artistes with disabilities who have made a mark in their area of expertise.
The Lifetime Recognition Awards will be given to: visually impaired veteran Veena artist Hemalatha Mani, dancer Narthaki Nataraj gets the Trailblazer Award for her contribution to the transgender fraternity, Rising Star Awards will be given to Vaikom Vijayalakshmi and Kanmoni Sasi, from Kerala with visual and physical impairment respectively, besides other awards.
