Says V V S Murari, violinist and festival curator, “The main reason for hosting the festivals in the temples is to take back the art form to the roots (where it began) and also have our artists perform for different kinds of audiences.”
Murari says that the festivals also host young talents. “We want them to perform for a decent sized audience which includes floating audiences at places like a temple.”
He says the collaborations with young and seasoned artistes have been good. ” We had over 500 applications for this year alone,” adds Murari.
