CSI Church of the Good Shepherd in Mylapore zone hosted Gloria, an event of ecumenical carols by the youth on Saturday December 9.
Fourteen teams took part and there were around 180 participants in toto.
Rev. G. Earnest Selva Durai, presbyter and the elders of the parish handed over mementos and saplings to the participants. These saplings were to be planted in their respective church premises.
Churches of other denominations like Advent Christian Church, Nanmangalam, and Mizpah AG Church, Kolathur also took part.
The programme was organised by Benjamin Premkumar, Giftah Clifford, Merlin Robin and Sharon Eveson. Sudhakar Immanuel, secretary of the pastorate committee, E. Sughirson Vincent, treasurer along with all the members of the committee and the Youth Fellowship played an important role to make the event a success.
On December 10, the spirit of Christmas was celebrated by the Sunday School children of the parish.
There were carols, dance and skits.The nativity scene was the highlight of the programme which commenced with a prayer by presbyter Rev. Earnest Selva Durai and ended with a vote of thanks by the Sunday School superintendent Jansy Solomon.
All the children were given Christmas gifts.
