The tank of Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple, Mylapore looked serene and still on Tuesday morning.
By last evening, workers had cleared the waters here of all the dead fish. They used barges to cover the entire expanse of this large tank and some people walked in the shallow portions to get the massive operation done.
Dead fish had begun to float in the tank since 6 pm or so on Sunday evening even as the Karthigai Deepam celebrations were unfolding at the temple.
