Cattle enjoyed an evening out in Mandaveli on Thursday and as it always happens, motorists and people had to weave their way around them as they ambled on.
They were found on the bridge over the Buckingham Canal near the MRTS station in Mandaveli.
Local people said the cattle are normally tied on the banks of the Canal but sometimes, they are freed and walk around.
Chennai Corporation has been detaining cattle seen on streets and roads, which is a violation, after a series of incidents in which some people were gored and injured and one senior passed away many days after he was knocked down by a cow in Triplicane.
Cattle can be seen on South Mada Street, Mylapore but the street has been free of them in recent times.
