SNEHA is a 35 year old organisation offering unconditional emotional support for the
distressed, depressed and or suicidal.
Based in R. A. Puram, this volunteer driven organisation provides its services through a crisis support hotline, chat services and email.
Founder-trustee Dr Lakshmi Vijayakumar of SNEHA says that in the recent months, it has seen a steady increase in the phone calls from people seeking emotional help.
” This is why our volunteer strength needs a boost to handle the situation,” she adds.
SNEHA needs volunteers who fulfil the following requirements – 1. Above 20 years of age 2. Resident of Chennai 3. Knowledge of English and Tamil 4. Physical presence at SNEHA office once a week for four hours at a stretch (anytime between 8 am and 10 pm)
