The morning of the annual Saraswathi puja is a special one for the hostelites at Ramakrishna Mission Students Home in Mylapore.
This campus is abuzz at Navaratri time, with prayers and a procession every morning, a discourse that is held later and then the evening puja and concert.
Students are encouraged to be involved in these Navaratri events.
On Monday morning, they were up early to prepare for the Saraswathi puja. It began at 9.30 a.m. with the image of the goddess adorned with flowers.
Later that evening, the boys of the Home, who attend courses on campus, sat for the concert while the seniors managed the event.
