The Christmas mood was floated at a hall at Hotel Savera in Mylapore on Friday morning when guests and chefs of the hotel came together for the annual cake mixing ceremony.
Well before the guests arrived, the hotel’s chefs had laid out all the ingredients that go into the making of a plum cake. The contents were spread across a few decorated tables and bottles of liquor in one corner.
The hotel had invited guests and their friends to the event and once they were ready, all of them, with Christmas caps on their heads, dug into the ingredients, mixed them, poured the spirits into it, and kept mixing it till they got tired of the task!
It will be left for the hotel’s kitchen hands to mix it further and put away this mix; it will be taken out on the eve of Christmas to be made into plum cakes.
