This Thanksgiving Day at church also featured fun and games, sales and food

The Harvest Festival also known as Thanksgiving festival was celebrated by the community of CSI Saint Thomas Tamil Church in San Thome on Sunday, the 10th of September.

The event was organised by Pastor Rev. Dr. Y. Sailas Gnanadoss and the pastorate committee led by secretary Esther Jebaraj and treasurer Samuel Swamikkan.

It began with a service at 7.30 a.m. when the congregation gave thanks to the Almighty for the blessings received throughout the year.
It was followed by breakfast – idly, idiyappam, parottas and mutton kurma..all sold at a subsidised rate of just Rs 50.
Various stalls were put up, selling snacks like murukkus, ladoos. coconut barfi, bhel puri and pani puri.
There were games stalls and a raffle too.
Church members brought in various items as their donations – silk sarees, household articles, provisions, a keyboard. a mixer grinder and six gold articles like coins, rings and a gold cross.  They were put up for auction.
This was followed by lunch – mutton biryani was served.
