One small, good deed by a community serves those who need support.
This is what happened at R. K. Nagar, a colony in R. A. Puram recently.
Two weavers based in the Ramnad region who were on a mobile sales tour of this part of the city, stopped in this colony and sought help from the residents to display and sell saris and other products.
The members of the local residents’ association, TAKSRA, on realising the duo were genuine weavers and that they needed money in difficult times, arranged a sales space in the colony street and passed the word around.
Over 40 items were sold that weekend and the duo left with a smile.
