Actor R. S. Shivaji, a resident of R. A. Puram, passed away on September 2. He was 66 years old.
A well-known comedian, his last film in which he starred was ‘Lucky Man’ starring Yogi Babu in the lead; this film released on Sept.1.
He was the son of veteran actor and film producer M. R. Santhanam and the brother of actor Santhana Bharathi.

Shivaji starred in many Kamal Haasan’s films and made his mark with his comic-sense – in films like ‘Michael Madhana Kama Rajan’, Vikram, Sathya and Anbe Sivam.
He became well-known for his role in the film ‘Apoorva Sagodharagal’ in which his comedy, alongside Janakaraj, is recalled to this day.
