Hawkers have put up stalls on North Mada Street, Mylapore and begun to display and sell images of Sri Krishna on the eve of Sri Krishna jayanthi.
This Monday morning, many hawkers were seen unpacking the bommais which are mostly made in Panruti and setting them up on makeshift stalls alongside this busy road.
Prices range from Rs 50 to 3000.
These hawkers will be back later to sell images of lord Vinayaka, and then flood the bazaar with bommais for the Navaratri kolu festival.
