Even as many parts of the city gets spells of rain now, civic workers have been seen in Mylapore zone continuing the work of clearing the silt and waste that has collected in stormwater drains.
This week, a group of workers were seen clearing the drains alongside Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital in R A Puram.
GCC staff say similar operations have been and are still being done across Mylapore.
This will allow rainwater to flow quickly and smoothly and not cause flooding, especially during the monsoon season.
