Chief minister unveils statue of Rabindranath Tagore on Queen Marys College campus

A life size statue of Rabindranath Tagore, celebrated Indian poet and writer, artist and philosopher, was unveiled on September 8 morning by Tamil Nadu chief minister M. K. Stalin inside the campus of Queen Mary’s College, Mylapore.

Some of Stalin’s cabinet colleagues and the Mylapore MLA were also present at this brief event. The statue stands near the main gate of the college.

The statue was set up over two weeks ago at this spot and was wrapped up since then.

Photo below shows faculty members of QMC posing at the statue after the formal event was over.
