On the occasion of Avani Avittam this Wednesday, August 30, the sacred thread ( poo-nool) changing ceremonies have been taking place since early this morning at many spots across Mylapore.
One such event was held at Sri Thiruvalluvar Temple in Mylapore.
People in batches, some 30 in each batch, by turn, sat for the ritual inside the temple premises here.
