Two state agency-run stores in the Mylapore zone have begun selling tomatoes at Rs.60 per kilo.
The stocks are limited and available from 9.30 am, said one shop staff, and so on first come first basis from today.
“We get three boxes of tomatoes latest by 10 am and they are sold at once,” he added. This suuply has been arranged by the state government’s department.
The two shops are the one at Chennai Corporation Complex on R A Puram’s 3rd Cross and the one on TTK Road, opposite Demonte Colony.
