Saturday’s event as part of the ongoing celebration of the feast of saint Thomas at the Cathedral in San Thome was a grand one.
It was the evening of the car procession.
People gathered at Our Lady of Guidance Church on Lazarus Church Road in R A Puram and led a procession on to the San Thome High Road.
The statue of saint Thomas, grandly decorated with flowers and illumination, was pulled by volunteers at the rear end of the procession which ended at the Cathedral.
The procession route was decorated with flags and illumination.
The feast ends on Sunday with a series of Holy Masses.
