There was some buzz on the campus of St. Antony’s Girls’ School in Mandaveli on Wednesday, July 19.
That morning, the students of Std. XI received bicycles from local area councillor Amirtha Varshini in the presence of school headmistress Sr. Elizabeth Rani and the staff.
The free cycles for girl students is a project of the Tamil Nadu government.
The councillor appreciated the headmistress and staff for their efforts in educating the students and advised students not to stop with higher secondary schooling but join a college and pursue higher education.
The councillor had studied at St. Anthony’s, located on Madha Church Road.
