The Aadi Pooram celebration at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple was held on Saturday, July 22 and it was a crowded and grand one.
The temple campus was packed with people, mostly women, who joined the queues to pray at the amman.
The goddess, besides being grandly decorated, was seated under what was like a canopy of glass bangles.
Volunteers had organised a special event for this occasion even as women offered bangles to the deity in the Navarathri mantapam.
