The USA ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti was taken around Sri Kapaleewarar Temple on June 16 during his official visit to the city.
Historian and scholar Madhusudhanan Kalaichelvan took him around and was his guide here.
The visit was arranged by the US Consulate in Chennai and the consul general Judith Ravin was also present as was the temple’s executive officer and her team
Madhusudhanan later said the ambassador enjoyed the religious, spiritual and cultural significance of the place and appreciated the local traditions and temple architecture.
“I was happy to narrate the story of srimath Thirugnana Sambandhar and how our culture thrives till date due to his contributions made almost a millennium and a half ago,” the guide said.
