Mylapore zone experienced a good short spell of rain from about 4.30 this evening.
Dark clouds had gathered around that time and it rained lightly and then steadily.
There was a light roll of thunder too.
But after the rain, the stuffiness was felt; since the daytime temperature across the city has been over 40 degrees.
Last evening, though there were showers south of R. A. Puram and in Adyar, there was no rain in the Mylapore zone.
