The weekend traffic in the heart of Mylapore and Mandaveli went for a toss on Saturday evening as the road was blocked near Mandaveli market junction.
A key drain was damaged and it burst and to rectify this, the workers from Metrowater had to dig up a section of the road. They said this work would be long since the damage was a bit serious.
MTC buses plying on the R K Mutt Road were diverted at Luz point.
