The stage lights were on at the Mylapore Fine Arts Club last Sunday morning; here, theatre professionals were sharing skills with budding performers.
This was an acting workshop conducted by Bombay Gnanam Arts Academy.
Aspiring artistes from various walks of life experienced an interactive session by talented National School of Drama alumni – like actor Sojin K. R. who has trained hundreds of budding performers over the last few years.
There was not a dull moment with Sojin having fun ice-breaker activities, engaging the group in the nuances of theatre—nava rasa (nine emotions), emphasis of breathing, voice modulation, troupe’s trust and support element.
Actor – director S Ve Shekher came by to interact.
Veteran theatre artiste Bombay Gnanam who runs the academy says, “Our mission is to produce confident individuals who may shine on stage, who otherwise have a fear of attending auditions. We do this through a series of workshops.”
On completion of the course, participants receive a certificate.
