Queen Mary’s College ( QMC), Mylapore has a colourful history and so, it receives guests who have connections to people who have contributed to that history.
On June 1, the college prepares to host the “Sullivan Sisters” – they are Prof. Oriel Sullivan-Alon and Jocelyn Mary Smith who are guests of the state and are here to take part in the the bicentenary of the Nilgiris District, because of the connect there of their previous generations.
The Sisters’ have a connection with QMC: their maternal grandmother, Georgina McCormick was one of the founding professors of QMC.
On their return from Ooty, the duo have planned to visit the college on June 1 and an event has been organised here at 10.00 am.
A faculty member of the college said that a meeting is to be held between them and the QMC principal and faculty of the college.
