Mylapore MLA Dha Velu says he is keen to see that Infinity Park in Mandavelipakkam, set up for children with and without disabilities is restored.
Velu has inspected the park which has been in bad shape for close to a year and was briefed by Chennai Corporation officials.
He says that he has been told that Greater Chennai Corporation ( GCC) is in talks with Appaswamy Builders, who maintains this park, to collaborate with GCC in the Nammakku Namme scheme in which GCC and the private party share the payment of the bills of such a project.
Appaswamy Builders has already told Mylapore Times that it is not keen to take up the funding proposition now.
The MLA says that if the collaboration does not come off he will sign out funds from his MLA’s constituency development fund and ensure the park is restored.
GCC officials say the restoration could cost about Rs.30 lakhs.
