Carnatic music vocalist Palghat Ramprasad who resides in Alwarpet was among the artistes honoured at the Sangeet Natak Academy’s Yuva Puraskar awards event held on Feb. 15 at Delhi’s Meghdhoot Theater complex.
The awards for the years 2019, 2020 and 2021 were clubbed and awarded that day.
The union minister for culture and tourism, Kishan Reddy felicitated the awardees with the award plaque, prize money and a shawl.
Photos of all the awardees for the three years were exhibited around the lawn and walk area of the amphi theatre in multiple places, says Ramprasad.
Earlier, on Feb.14, Ramprasad and L. Ramakrishnan got together to present a short concert, as part of the award ceremony.
