St Bede’s cricket team collapses to lose in thriller final of TNCA tourney for under-14 players

After restricting PSBB Millennium school team to just 179 runs, St Bede’s collapsed in dramatic fashion to lose the final of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association’s tourney for under 14 players of city schools.
The Sam Thome-based school team lost by 11 runs.
After recovering from 89/5 when the Bedeans lost their captain Kamlesh in the 29th over, the team was 161/6 needing just 19 runs in the last 6 overs.
A gritty innings by wicket keeper Nitin Damodhar and his 43-run partnership with Pavan Harshan had helped the team recover.
But the Bedeans collapsed towards the end, losing the last 4 wickets for just 7 runs.
Earlier in the day,  Bedean captain Kamlesh who had bowled well throughout the tournament picked four wickets to restrict PSBB Millennium team to a moderate score.
