Sri Ramakrishna Math is celebrating Vivekananda Navaratri at its Mylapore campus in early February.
A note from the Math states that ‘after the historic Chicago Address (1893), when swami Vivekananda returned to India, he stayed from Feb. 6 to 14, 1897 at Vivekanandar Illam in Madras.
This historic event of 9-days’ stay of swami Vivekananda is being celebrated every year as ‘Vivekananda Navaratri’.
This year also happens to be the 125th year of inception of Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai.
The Math has arranged various cultural programmes – bhajans, dramas, Bommalattam, classical dances, and spiritual discourses by eminent personalities from Feb. 6 to 14.
