K. Srivasta Chakravarthy, a resident of Mandavelipakkam has won a silver medal in the 40+ years age group event in the Veteran World Championships for Table Tennis that was held in Oman, Muscat from January15 to 21.
This the first World Championships medal from India in this category.
Srivatsa Chakravarthy, isa former India table tennis player who has represented India in many international events. He has won three silvers and one bronze at the National Games.
He is the current national champion in doubles in TT.
Has been playing in the TT league in Germany for the last 22 years.
He has won three golds, two silvers and two bronzes in 39 plus years category in tourneys.
He was also a coach of the India TT team at various points in the past.
He holds a honorary doctorate in sports.
Srivatsa is a resident of 5th Trust Cross Street, Mandavelipakkam.
