On Saturday evening, Sri Athi Kesava Perumal made his way from the temple on a procession to the Chitrakulam for the start of the five day Thai Theppotsavam.
A steady stream of devotees had darshan of the Lord on the float for well over an hour.
The Sripatham personnel helped a few devotees get on to the float on the south side to have a closer darshan of Kesava Perumal.
A fire engine was stationed on the west side of the Chitrakulam as a safeguard measure to meet any emergency.
