The final evening of the three day Pon Oonjal Utsavam at the Sri Kapali Temple on Thursday began with hereditary priest Balaji Gurukal presenting a Parivattam to Othuvar Sathgurunathan.
With Karpagambal and Kapaleeswarar stationed opposite each other on the swing, the Othuvar delighted the devotees who had gathered in good number near the Navarathri mandapam with the verses from Thiruvempavai as well as Manickavachakar’s Pon Oosal praising Utharakosamangai.
This was followed by the Pancha Moorthy procession around the Mada streets. Back at the temple, shortly after 9.30pm, the Sripatham personnel presented voyali.
It was also the final day of the Thiruvempavai Utsavam.
Balaji Gurukal told Mylapore Times that Manickavachakar saw the Lord as Nayaka and himself as Nayaki and presented Thiruvempavai wherein he suggests a way to attain God through Paavai Nombu.
Ambal and Swami were back on the swing again after the voyali and the devotees had one final darshan of the divine couple before they made their way back to their abode just after 10pm bringing to end this year’s Pon Oonjal utsavam
