MDnD, the Alwarpet-based online ticketing company which focuses on music, dance and theatre has launched its window for this December Season. Rasikas, locally and outside the city, can now book concert tickets online.
Over a dozen leading sabhas of the city have tied up with MDnD, and a few more are expected to join this party, making it easy for rasikas to enjoy concerts of their favourite artistes.
The company’s CEO, K. Kalyan says that besides selling tickets online, his team is training a group whose members will also work at the sabha gates to facilitate tickets buying and reservation. “We want to give rasikas a good experience,” says Kalyan, a leading chartered accountant. “When people are so used to booking food, travel and accommodation online, they now expect this service at the December Season.”
The site has already seen a steady sale of tickets for Madrasana’s music fest at a modern auditorium on the campus of Asian College of Journalism, Taramani.
Kalyan’s company also offers a bonus to rasikas – they can now book a seat to enjoy ‘sapad’ at the famed sabha canteens that are at the core of the cultural festival. Two leading caterers, Sastha and Sasthalaya – who operate from Mylapore Fine Arts and from Narada Gana Sabha, have signed up.
“The caterers were a bit hesitant at first, unsure if they could honour the committment,” says Kalyan. “But they too agreed clients want a smooth process.”
While elai sapad, which draws a big crowd, not necessarily rasikas, will be offered at MFAC sabha premises, diners must settle for mini-meals and rice varieties and snacks at Narada Gana Sabha.
MDnD also has plans to pepper its online space with snappy videos and visuals this December Season.
