The feast of saint Luke, the patron saint of CSI Saint Luke’s Church on R. K. Mutt Road in Mandaveli was celebrated on the weekend of Oct. 22/ 23.
A confirmation service was held on Saturday. Pastor Rev. G. Dhanasekaran said that 65 children received confirmation and were blessed by Rt. Rev. Dr. J. George Stephen, Bishop in Madras, Church of South India. Bishopamma Yamuna George Stephen, the head of the Women’s Board also presided over the event.
On Sunday, there was a regular service at 8.30 a.m. Following the service, a fancy dress competition for kids was held. The kids dressed up as Biblical characters and presented a pretty picture.
Moses Raja Cecil, secretary of the pastorate committee said that earlier this month many other competitions were held for the children of the parish. Prizes for all the competitions were distributed to the prize winners at the end of the event. The chief guest for this function was Mylapore MLA, Dha Velu.
